Corporate policy

The Mátra Power Plant Closely Held Corporation is committed to fulfilling the electric power demand of the country variable in time and quantity on the basis of domestic lignite and biomass. That’s why it places the safe and economically competitive electric power generation into the focus of its activities taking the environmental protection requirements into consideration in accordance with the economical yield of fuel.

The Company performs designate testing station (motor vehicle repair, preliminary motor vehicle maintenance inspection and environmental protection examination of motor vehicles) and fire-apparatus repair and filling activities as well. The management system of the Company is focusing on quality and environment, so that we are able to ensure the fulfillment of the requirements regarding environmental protection and those defined in other legal provisions, furthermore in authority regulations and our own policies, on an ever higher level, and the reduction of adverse environmental effects.  

The corporate policy of the Company fully applies to all activities of the Company and is put into effect as an integral part of the everyday activities.

Our goals:

  • the continuous and secure fulfillment of the customers’ electric power demand,
  • the improvement of the economy of electric power generation,
  • taking into consideration the environmental and landscape protection aspects at all times, the continuous improvement of our environmental efficiency,
  • the amelioration of our returns with electric power trading activities, the marketing of our other products, by-products and services, 
  • providing the optimal fuel structure necessary for electric power generation, taking into consideration the aspects of CO2 emission,
  • the maintenance of the functionality of the Company’s plants and equipments,  the amelioration of their availability, the continuous improvement and development of the material conditions,
  • the assurance of the Company’s long term future with technical and environmental protection related development.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, the Company defines the following tasks:

  • it operates a holistic business management system applying to all activities and processes of the Company,
  • it ensures the retention and the further enhancement of its position in the energy sector through market research and process improvement,
  • it helps the employees and managers to develop their quality and environmental friendly approach, and to continuously widen and enrich their knowledge within this domain,
  • it defines goals each year, and regularly provides the breakdown, execution and verification thereof,
  • it ensures the continuous improvement of the business management system, the adequate regulation, the practical functioning and the control of the processes,
  • it formulates its requirements towards its partners as well, and enforces them consequently.

 The responsibility of the managers is a determinant element of the corporate policy:

  • the managers create the unity of the Company’s goals and leadership,
  • the business management system is a management tool for the managers in order to achieve the goals, returns and efficiency.
